St. Thomas Announcements… Jan. 3rd – 10th

This Week’s Highlights ….

Worship Opportunities:  On Sunday, January 7 at the 10:00 a.m. worship service Pastor Jeremiah’s sermon is entitled, “God is Speaking”. The scripture readings for this are from Isaiah 60:1, 2, 4; Mark 1:4-5, 9-11.  This service will also include a Reaffirmation of the Baptismal Covenant.

United Methodist Women:  With the holidays now gone, UMW returns to their regular schedule of meetings, the next to be held at Sally’s home, Monday, January 8 at 1:30 p.m.  The topic this month is Sharing Keepsakes…please plan to bring a keepsake that has meaning for you and tell us about it – an antique, a recipe, an old doll or toy, a picture, a favorite souvenir from a trip, etc.

Leadership Team:  Will be meeting on Saturday, January 13.  Team members, please plan to attend this important meeting for future and transitional planning.

A Christmas Thank You: Pastor Jeremiah received the following message of thank you from the School Social Workers and Principal of Marquardt Middle School: “I wanted to write you and your congregation a note, to say THANK YOU for your contributions to some of our neediest families.  Because of your churches overwhelming response three children will have winter coats that they previously would not of had, one family has an abundance of Christmas presents, gift cards to shop for a holiday meal, and warm hats and gloves!  These families are so grateful, the mom had tears in her eyes.  Often some of the neediest families are so overwhelmed with joy it’s difficult for them to find words.  Sometimes this is because they are embarrassed and sometimes they cannot find the right words to express their gratitude.  I am very grateful that Pam (Manzke) thought of including her church family in helping our school family!  Many blessings to you all this holiday season and always!  I understand your church is going through a transition and I wish you all much peace and joy as your new church family expands and grows in love!”  Well done, oh good and faithful servants!
