As United Methodists we share a witness with other Christians in:
The conviction that God offers love and mercy to all people,
the mystery of redemption and salvation through Jesus Christ, and
the centrality of worship and celebration of sacraments of Baptism and Holy Communion.
Our conviction requires us to grow in faith and spiritual maturity with the guidance of Scripture, Reason, Tradition, and Experience, and to anchor that growth in the fellowship of the church.
St. Thomas United Methodist Church's mission statement:
Help people discover, experience, and share God's love through God's life-changing love through Jesus Christ;
Provide comfort and support for those in need;
Nurture spiritual growth through worship, fellowship, and education.
Respect and protect the dignity and diversity of God's creation.
Opportunities for spiritual growth and fellowship go beyond Sunday morning:
Our mission work is both local and global. We support the Glen Ellyn Food Pantry, DuPage PADS, Aurora Day Care Center, CROP Walk, Scouting organizations, and many other community service groups. Church sponsored mission projects have taken members to Honduras, Zaire, South Dakota, Ohio, Southern Illinois, and the Appalachian Mountains.
